Priority Board turns a Jira project’s backlog into one column per priority. Drag an issue to another column and its real Priority field changes; drag it up or down and its rank changes — the same order your backlog shows.

Set priority by drag and drop

One column per priority of the project’s scheme, with its icon and count. Drop a card to change its priority, or select several cards and move them together. Changed your mind? Undo or Ctrl+Z puts every card back.

Rank inside each priority

The order within a column is Jira’s rank. Drag a card up or down, or use Move up / Move down from its menu, and your Jira board and backlog show the same order.

Triage views for the whole team

Split the board into swimlanes by epic, assignee or project, see Overdue and Due in N days marks on every card, and find any issue by key or summary.

Everything a backlog review needs

  • Sprints view (Jira Software) — pull prioritized issues into the next sprint, or back to the backlog.
  • Boards by any field — add a tab by component, label, fix version or a select field.
  • Filters and quick find — Only my issues, assignees, statuses, issue types, created date; Mine and Unassigned.
  • Saved profiles and shared views — your own filter sets per project, and views shared with the whole project.
  • WIP limits, column sums and card fields — Story Points or estimates per column, the fields you want on cards.
  • Export to CSV and a dashboard gadget with issues per priority.

Runs on Atlassian

Priority Board is built on Atlassian Forge. Changes are made as you, with your Jira permissions. The app stores only your profiles and views inside your Atlassian site and makes no external calls. See the privacy policy.

Scoring the backlog first? The free RICE & WSJF calculator ranks items both ways and suggests a Jira priority for each; then set it here by drag and drop.

Frequently asked questions

Which Jira permissions does the app ask for, and why?

Read and write Jira work, to search issues and change the due date, priority, assignee or status as you; read Jira users, for people in the filters; app storage, for saved views; manage Jira configuration, only because Jira requires it to list the members of a group for the Groups filter; and Jira Software board and sprint permissions for the Sprints view and rank. Every change is made with your own permissions.

Where is my data stored?

Saved views and filters are stored by Atlassian in the app's Forge storage for your site; issues stay in Jira and are changed from your browser, as you. The app makes no outside connections and Simplify has no server.

How much does it cost?

It is free for sites with up to 10 users. Larger sites pay per user through the Atlassian Marketplace, after a free 30-day trial.

Does Priority Board change the real Jira Priority field?

Yes. Dropping a card on a column sets the issue's Priority in Jira, as you and with your permissions; the change is in the issue history like any other edit.

Is the order inside a column saved?

Yes, on Jira Software sites. The order is Jira's rank, so moving a card up or down changes the order your backlog and Jira boards show too.

Does it include RICE or WSJF scoring?

No. Priority Board works with Jira's own Priority field and rank; it does not calculate scores. Our free RICE & WSJF calculator on this site does, in your browser.

Can I undo a priority change?

Yes. The message after a move has Undo, and Ctrl+Z (⌘Z on a Mac) does the same — also for several cards moved at once.

Where is my data stored?

Issues stay in Jira. The app stores only your saved profiles and views, in its Forge storage inside your Atlassian site; nothing is sent outside Atlassian.
