How to Use AI Generated User Reports, Insights & Comparisons for Jira

Follow this step-by-step guide to start generating AI-powered reports effortlessly with AI Generated User Reports, Insights & Comparisons for Jira.

1. Install the Plugin


2. Report Displaying

  • To view all generated reports, navigate to the global page. Use the filters to sort reports by date. Displaying all generated reports in the global page with date filters

  • Set visibility permissions for reports:
    • By default, only admins can view reports.
    • To modify permissions, click on "Set Report View Permissions," select users, and click "Save Permissions." Setting report view permissions for specific users

3. Generate a New Report with Rovo

  1. Click on the "Chat" button. Accessing the Rovo chat interface
  2. Click on "Browse Agents" and type "Report Assistant by Simplify" in the search bar. Browsing agents and finding the Report Assistant by Simplify
  3. Select the agent to open the chat and click "Generate My Report." Generating a report through the Rovo chat
  4. Rovo provides several options for reports:
    • Daily from Jira activities
    • Weekly from created reports or Jira activities
    • Monthly from created reports or Jira activities
    • Quarterly from created reports
    • Yearly from created reports
  5. Type the number or name of your preferred option. Choosing a report type for Rovo to generate
  6. When prompted, specify the date range in the format "YYYY-MM-DD." Specify a date for Rovo to generate
  7. You can ask Rovo to edit a generated report by typing your request directly into the chat. Editing a generated report using Rovo chat
  8. After generating the report, Rovo may ask if you want to save it. Respond with the command provided (e.g., "Save as Daily Report"). Saving a generated report with a specific name

4. Adjust Generating Reports

4.1. Global Templates

  • Templates standardize report formatting and enhance AI-generated insights.

  • To create a global template:

    1. Click "Manage Your Apps" in the navbar and select "User Daily Reports" in the sidebar.

    2. Go to the "Create New Template" tab and create a template in MDX format. Refer to the MDX Guide for assistance.

    3. Click "Add Template" to save it.

  • Apply templates to report types (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly) via the "Manage Templates" tab.

  • Rovo will now apply the template as the default for relevant reports.

4.2. Personal Templates

  • Users can override global templates with personal templates:
    1. Navigate to the global page and open the "Create New Template" tab. Global page for managing personal templates

  • Rovo will use the personal template instead of the global one for the selected user.

5. Monitor and Compare User Reports

  • Open "Manage Your Apps" in the navbar and go to "User Daily Reports" in the sidebar.

  • Use the filter section to select reports by:

    • User: Displays reports for a specific user.
    • Groups: Shows reports for all users in a group.
    • Project: Lists reports for users associated with a selected project.
  • Save filter profiles for quick access to frequently used configurations.
